Favorite Things

I thought I would share a few of my favorite things that I am using this year to help me study God's word.

The first being the Scripture Reading Plan I am using provided by the Journey church. I like it because if you get behind it is easy to get caught up. :)

The second is what I am using to help me memorize verses. I have always wanted to memorize Philippians and shared that desire with my husband. He directed me to this site which has a VERY helpful guide to memorizing Philippians!

I just played this video and Emma was listening and saying all the numbers after I said them (on the video). It was too precious. I'll have to video her watching the video!!!

Love Is In The House...

Me to Emma: I Love You Baby! Emma to Me: I Nu You Ba-beee! It is too sweet. She has just now started adding Ba-beee to the ends of things that she says...like I do when talking to her...maybe I should stop??? It is too sweet to hear her though!

Please Pray

My Dad's mom (Gan is what we call her) was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer last Month. They did a complete hysterectomy and removed the tumor and the portion of her colon that it was wrapped around. She was doing fine and recovering well for several weeks and then last week, had a setback. A portion of her colon ruptured so she had to go back to the hospital to have surgery to fix it. Since then she has really been struggling, her heart has been quite erratic and her breathing has gotten worse. They have drained about 1800ml of fluid from her lungs in the last few days but they have now filled back up like they were. They are not sure where the fluid is coming from. Her heart rate and breathing is now stable but she is not showing any significant signs of improvement. As of right now she could go either way. She could start the slow and steady climb to healing on this earth or experience the ultimate healing of our Lord. Please for strength and encouragement for my grandmother and for God's will to be done.
My mom and dad are flying in to Dallas late tomorrow night to see my grandmother and help my uncle take care of things there. Please keep them in your prayers as they travel.

ROLL TIDE ROLL

I surprised Josh with tickets to the Alabama/Kentucky game (thanks to Stan & Harris). I told him about 9:00 that morning before we left at 10:00. He was pretty excited! :) EG stayed with the Lewis girls and 2 sitters that day. They said she did good...I hope so. It was a looooong day.
We took a group picture but I don't have it yet.

Heading Out

On our way out of Nashville we met my friend Laurie for lunch at Puffy Muffin, a wonderful bakery that serves lunch. It was delicious. I now regret not getting something delicious for dessert. What was I thinking??? My brain was a little spacey (because of EG's lunch behavior, or lack there of) and I forgot to have a picture taken of all of us. So I'm going to steal a pic off of her facebook page to post here! :) She is expecting a little boy, Jonathan Carter Roe, due October 30. Laurie owns a fabulous boutique in Franklin, Petite Boutique that EG and I visited.

Visiting The Braunschneider's in N-ville

We stayed two nights with the Braunschneider's and had a great time. They used to live next door to us in Wake Forest, we were so sad when they moved away. :( EG enjoyed playing with "Ridey" (Riley) and Gracie. Gracie is so sweet and giving, she wanted to give EG several things she had outgrown. EG has some new glitters sandals, a pretty new shirt and a little doll. So sweet. Riley is just a few months older than EG so they had a lot of fun together. EG woldn't cooperate to get a picture WITH them so I had to take a picture of them by themselves.

Second Stop...Nashville

Our first stop in Nashville was lunch with my cousins, Clint and Christopher. We had a hearty lunch at the Pie Kitchen off of music row...nothing like a "meat and three". EG and I shared meatloaf, mashed potatoes, macaroni (nothing like good starches!) green beans, corn bread and sweet tea. YUM! We had a good timevisiting with them and listening to some "up and coming" music. Clint works in the music industry and Christopher is preparing to become a trainer.

Still in Knoxville

While EG and I were in Knoxville we got together with a dear friend, Angela, for a nice visit and a mexican dinner. (Yum)! Angela and I became quick and dear, dear friends in China. We did summer missions there for 10 weeks back in 2003. That time was filled with many trials but great triumphs. Angela and I have a unique friendship...I don't even know how to describe it. Now days (both being married and me with a little one) we don't talk as much as we used to but our friendship has never changed. I feel so incredible close to her and that is a true gift from God. I thank God for the trials he used to bring us even closer together. There are not many people in this world that I can truly share my whole heart with...she is one of them and I cherish that. I love you and miss you A-la (as EG calls her)!!!
Below are some pictures of us in China.
Our first meal together. A 'Hot Pot" restaurant in Hong Kong

Shopping at the market in Hong Kong

Dinner at our FAVORITE restaurant in Fuzhou....my mouth is watering right now. YUM!!!

First Stop...Knoxville

EG and I took a week long road trip before JB met up with us. She was a trooper and aside from a few sleepless nights she did well. She "met" lots of new people, saw some old friends and spent the night in four different houses and even had a new set of sitters one day. "Miss Personality" did great! I will do my best to post some new pictures each day.
EG and her buddy "Dack" (Jack)
She LOVED playing with Jack and he was sooo sweet to her!!
We miss you Dack and talk about you all the time.

"Should I kiss her??"

Did she just kiss me????

Sweet Faces!!! XOXOXOXOXOXO
