Favorite Things

I thought I would share a few of my favorite things that I am using this year to help me study God's word.

The first being the Scripture Reading Plan I am using provided by the Journey church. I like it because if you get behind it is easy to get caught up. :)

The second is what I am using to help me memorize verses. I have always wanted to memorize Philippians and shared that desire with my husband. He directed me to this site which has a VERY helpful guide to memorizing Philippians!

Wednesday...

Today I got home to find my little girl napping and thankfully her nap lasted 2 hours (that is rare these days) so I got to nap too!!! After our long nap we got up and met a couple of my friends from work for a mexican dinner and then headed to church. EG entertained us with lemon eating, dancing and playing during dinner. She was quite the "show off". Then we went to church where she had some delicious homemade ice cream. Mrs. Peggy, our children's director, was sneaking some in to her when I came up! :) Because of her loooong nap I kept her up an hour later than usual. I was letting her play on her own, then she brought her book over to me and started pointing out the different things in it. Of course things are categorized and she is very good at that. We are working on learning new words now...flowers sound something like water....I can't figure that one out. :) We are working on recognizing numbers but right now everything is "three"!

As I am typing this (I should be cleaning) my baby girl is laying in her bed chatting away! I LOVE hearing her sweet voice jabber and sing. It is definitely the most beautiful sound!

I think we are getting to the point of potty training. As of right now her private area is called "poo poo". When she pee's she pulls at her diaper and says "poo poo" and when she actually poo poo's she does the same thing. I think it is time for us to buy a little potty for our BIG girl to sit on. I cannot believe she is there already....aghhh...does that mean it is almost time for a big girl bed???? Mom you ready to start potty training this summer???? :) Ha!

Here is a picture of EG and her daddy on Saturday when we were getting ready for Seth's Birthday party. Doesn't she look like a little doll here??? So precious!

What's Your Name?

Sweet Baby Girl

I just have to write a post and say how incredibly fun our little bug has become in the last month. She is absolutely hilarious and such a tease! She is still extremely busy but seems to have calmed down just a little. She will actually sit with me for a few minutes out of her busy day. It is such a joy and so much fun to have her sit in my lap or by my side and laugh. Sometimes we sit in the lazyboy rocker eat a snack and watch the all so wonderful "Backyardigans" that she prefers to call "Baa". Any kind of strange looking character is now "Baa". Today, I was in the kitchen when she came in there and held out the channel changer I went to get it and she pulled it back and started walking off. I started to get upset with her because I thought she was running from me. Then she came back and did it again, I finally realized that she was teasing me and wanted me to chase her. So of course I made a big deal and lots of loud noise as I chased her oh so slowly when I finally caught up with her she just cackled and cackled. It was so funny. We got her a new (to us) dresser/chest of drawers this weekend to go in her room. She has been opening her changing table drawers and cabinet and pulling all her clothes out. They have been spread around the house for the last two weeks and were beginning to drive me CRAZY. Finally they are folded and put away nicely. Now her toys are housed in the changing table and she enjoys pulling them out. :) She loves trying to eat with a "poon" however most of the time she holds it in one hand and stuffs her face with the other. Tonight she had a cottage cheese beard...very attractive. The boys will be knocking our doors down. :) She is saying new words everyday. She catagorizes things adults are either "Mama" or "Dada" and children, no matter what age are "baby" all animals are "dawwwg" all food is "baba" because she first learned banana and "baba" has stuck for food. All drinks are "wawa"...there are more but I can't think anymore. If you are reading this, please say a prayer for my little third graders. They will be taking EOG's (End of Grade tests) Wed, Thurs, & Fri. They are a big deal here. They are nervous as am I. Please pray that their nerves will be calm and that they will remember all they have learned this last year.

Pray for Katherine

Katherine and I lived on the same hall our freshman year at Samford. We were mostly aquaintances and participated in hall events together. We would see each other occasionally during the rest of my time at Samford.

Katherine has been married for 4 years (I think) and has a 6 month old little boy. She, her husband Jay, and son live in CA where Jay is finishing up his law degree at Pepperdine. On April 21, Katherine's legs went numb and she fell to the ground. She had some type of aneurysm/stroke. There was a large clump of blood vessels in her brain (that she was born with) and it is my understanding that they ruptured. You can find out more information on the websites I have listed below. Anyways, Katherine has a long, long journey ahead of her and I just ask that you pray for her. Her friends have started what they call the "Romans 8 Movement"...I have signed up to memorize Romans 8 and am asking you to consider to do the same. Katherine has had a great influence on the lives that she has come in contact with and this so called "tragedy" that has come upon her is causing her to have an even greater influence. Please check the following sites out...they say everything much better than I do!
