Favorite Things

I thought I would share a few of my favorite things that I am using this year to help me study God's word.

The first being the Scripture Reading Plan I am using provided by the Journey church. I like it because if you get behind it is easy to get caught up. :)

The second is what I am using to help me memorize verses. I have always wanted to memorize Philippians and shared that desire with my husband. He directed me to this site which has a VERY helpful guide to memorizing Philippians!

Welcome to Our Home

Welcome to our home...
View from the door.
We don't have a fireplace so our stockings are hanging on a wondeful coat rack that my uncle made for me out of old glass doorknobs I has collected. It is beautiful. It is a piece of artwork all on its own! The cream stockings are our's and the red ones are my parents who will be with us for Christmas this year! We can't wait!!
Our entry table Our dinner table.
Our Christmas Card holder! I love it!
Odd and end decorations on the top of our bakers rack. EG's little table.
Her "table runner" and mini tree. She loves the "tuptake's"!! Our bookshelves are topped with garland.
Of course EG's pictures with Santa are out. We have to take her this year so we can put that one out! I love these pictures!
The ram from Finland that mom brought us...there is some tradition but I cannot remember.
The advent tree from Finland...before they came popular over here! :) They are really popular over there. And a hurricane with moss and glass balls.
The 'mini tree' on top of our entertainment center.
Our nativity scene...I can't wait to get the rest of the pieces!!! Our Christmas tree. It is a hodge podge tree filled with ornaments we have selected and been given over the years. My family had a tradition of getting one ornament, that we chose, each year. I have continued that with my family. EG's ornaments this year (I couldn't choose just one) were a fish because she likes the Backyardigans episode with the "fishies" and a shoe because she LOVES shoes. I thought they were very fitting ornaments for this stage in her life!
EG's bathroom...we even gave the frog humidifier antlers! :) A close up of the wreath I made for $4. I love it! I think it is whimsical! The mini tree in EG's bathroom that we decorated with bows! EG's tree in her bedroom that SHE decorated with wired heart garland. She is so proud of her tree and loves to look at it!
EG's mini stocking in her room. The ram and bell mobile that mom brought from Finland. So original!
THANKS FOR VISITING! PLEASE COME BACK!
Merry Christmas!!!

Catching Up

This is going to be a loooong post catching up on fall events.
Josh and I went to the Fall Festival of Marriage in October. My good friends, from Birmingham, AL, Dale and Jena Forehand, were the keynote speakers and were FABULOUS! Travis Cottrel (who travels with Beth Moore) did the praise and worship which as always was AMAZING. Josh and I went to this conference last year as well. We look forward to going again next year! It is a great and fun weekend away and alone. :) Sandy and Pam Pittenger were kind enough to keep Emma for us while we were away. Thank you Pam and Sandy! We love you! Emma had a great time with Pam and Sandy. Thanks Brock and Erin for helping! :)
I had to go out of town for a couple of nights for work. Since Josh works nights I had to make plans for Emma. Emma went home with the Haggerty's Wednesday night after church and then Josh picked her up the next morning to take her to school. The Deglers kept Emma on Thursday night and then Peggy was nice enough to take her to school that day for us! Thank You, Peggy! That night, Halloween, we stopped over to trick-or-treat at the Degler home and got this great picture!

Mommy and Daddy with the sweet little Lady Bug!

This is the best picture we could get of Seth and Emma...suprise, surprise! I had the BRIGHT (not) idea of Scott and I sliding down at the same time with Seth and Emma. Well...I had a hard time climbing up holding our 30lb child. When I FINALLY got up there it did not work out as planned but it was fun anyway. Emma LOVED sliding down the slide.

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY EMMA!

November 7, 2008

GG took cupcakes to Emma's "school". I think they enjoyed the icing! :)

Then, they came to Mommy's school to share yummy iced cookies with the kids.

Mommy got a sweet picture with Emma on her Birthday.

Emma playing at my school and posing for a SWEET picture!

Our good friends and neighbors, Melody and Houston came to Marble Slab to help us celebrate Emma's birthday.

We got together with three of Emma's little friends from church, Seth, Samuel and Savannah

Emma chasing her good friend Seth.

An almost group picture! :)

Emma showing of the "wing" Seth gave her! :)

Daddy holding the two "buddies"!

Our Thanksgiving Picture.

Thank you so very much to the Pittenger's for having us and the Parkison's over for a great day and a great meal. We are so THANKFUL!

"Toffee & Mo"

If mommy gets "toffee" EG gets "mo" which translates whipped cream. Now, EVERYTIME we walk in to Target she points to where Starbucks is and asks for "mo, mo, mo". She was so proud of her mini cup and mini straw. What a big girl!!!

Caterpillar's and Barrett's

A few weekends ago, we woke up and EG discovered all her barretts and wanted them in her hair. So I started putting them in. As soon as one got in, she wanted another until they were all FINALLY in her hair. My, my, how lovely!!
Later that day we walked outside to find this creature just out of our front door. I have never in my life seen a Caterpillar so BIG. I thought about capturing it and taking it to school the next day but decided against it.
